Hello All,

Saturday, March 23rd, from Noon to 2 PM, Meet the Easter Bunny on Main Street, in front of Carnegie Coffee Company, 132 E. Main St. The bunny has a free treat bag for all children. Event sponsored by Carol Covi Children’s Event Committee and Carnegie Borough. (See more info below) (rain date: 3/24/24)

The Carnegie Area Ministerium Association will continue hosting a Lenten Lunch and Prayer service every Wednesday during March at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church located at 601 Washington Ave. Join leaders of the our local Christian community for a prayer service at Noon with a free light lunch to follow. March 8th, 9th, and 10th, Carnegie Spring Open House and Eggstravaganza, in downtown Carnegie. Stop by any of the participating businesses in Carnegie and celebrate spring with some great deals throughout the weekend and with every purchase receive an egg filled with a surprise or discount.

Friday, March 8th, 3 to 7 PM, Baked Fish Dinner, at Ss. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 220 Mansfield Ave.; dinners are $15 cash, $16 credit, also ala cart items.

Friday, March 8th, 6 to 8 PM, Family Reading Night, at Carnegie Elementary School. Free family fun: book fair, Games, Crafts, and many other activities.

Saturday, March 9th, from 9 to 1 AM, Carlynton Aqua Club Community Day, at the Carlynton High School Pool. Free admission to swim meet and a raffle entry with every donation. For more information go to www.carlyntonaquaclub.com. All proceeds benefit the Free Store.

Saturday, March 9th, from 1 to 2 PM, 2nd Saturday Civil War Lecture at the ACFL&MH – Our Flag Was Still There with Tom McMillan. Tom McMillan details the improbable two-hundred-year journey of the original Star-Spangled Banner – from Fort McHenry in 1814, when Francis Scott Key first saw it, to the Smithsonian in 2024 – thanks to three generations of an enduring military family, the Armisteads, who defended, kept, hid, and ultimately donated the most famous flag in American history. Seven games with both an adult and youth winner; 50/50; Food; and basket raffle. Join Ms. Lewis and her gang for this fun–filled evening.

Saturday, March 16th, 9 AM and 1:30 PM (two classes), Ukrainian Pysanky Egg Workshop, at Ss. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 220 Mansfield Ave.; learn the traditional art of making a Ukrainian Easter Egg using beeswax and dyes. Join the staff at the Library as they recognize and honor the poetic traditions of the many countries and cultures represented among the diverse residents of Carnegie. Hear Carnegie residents read poems in Arabic, Ukrainian, Hindi, and more, including English translations of each poem.

Saturday, March 23rd, from 12:30 to 3:30 PM, Bake Sale, at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church (730 Washington Ave.). Grab some award-winning, homemade, baked goods; all proceeds benefit the children of Ukraine.

Saturday, March 23rd, at 8 PM, Listen Locally with Pittsburgh Jazz Orchestra Quintet and Chantal Joseph, at the ACFL&MH. The Pittsburgh Jazz Orchestra Quintet, with guest vocalist Chantal Joseph, celebrate the music of Jerome Kern and Billy Strayhorn. Tickets are $25. St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church, Ss. Simon and Jude Worship Site, Fish Fry (located at the Parish Life Center Gym, 1601 Greentree Rd), will be held every Friday during Lent (except Good Friday), from 4:30 to 7:00 PM. Baked & fried fish, fish sandwiches, crab cakes, shrimp, pierogi, mac & cheese, french fries, lobster bisque, and much more. Carnegie Ancient Order of Hibernians (Division 32) Fish Fry located at the Ukrainian American Citizens Club (302 Mansfield) every Friday during lent from 4 to 7 PM. Enjoy award-winning, fried and baked fish, haluski, and much more.

F.O.E. 1134, Fish Fry (located at 202 3rd Ave.) is open every Friday during Lent from 2 to 8 PM; fried fish sandwich or dinner and fried shrimp dinner.
